I worked with SEOmoz for several years to guide the user experience and brand of the company.

MY TIME HERE

I worked with SEOmoz for several years to guide the user experience of their products and brand of the company. I worked on a variety of projects which included the experiences for their search marketing tools, the branding of their marketing material and the hiring and management of the design team.

MY ROLE

I was the Creative Director for SEOmoz and was also an individual contributor on critical features that they had produced. I had initially come onto the team as the first designer and played a role in building our design team from the ground up. The main focus for me and my team was to provide designs for the the SEOmoz Pro application and the SEOmoz website. We worked in the product team and supported development and marketing as well. We would also go on to help support the initial and yearly launch of Mozcon which is a digital marketing conference that’s held in Seattle each year.

I initially played a key role in redesigning the SEOmoz website and polishing the existing brand. I would go on to play a key role in rebranding the company from SEOmoz to its current state of MOZ.

THE MARKETING SITE

Not only did we have an active user base with our Pro application, we also had an even larger set of users that visited SEOmoz for the knowledge base of articles, videos, how-to’s and the community.

THE SEOMOZ PRO APP

The main focus of SEOmoz was to provide users with a tool that helped their search marketing campaigns. SEOmoz had built a web crawler similar to other search engines and provided insight for users that they couldn’t get from other sites at the time.
